How to Throw a fabulous baseball themed party!
This Spring we’re sponsoring a local baseball team in town - it’s an amazing way to both give back to the community and to market our brand! As part of our sponsorship, we were invited to join for the Opening Day parade and celebrations! We provided a custom baseball backdrop so that there was a beautiful place for the players and their families to take photos! We also provided our mobile bar cart to hand out free water to everyone!
We had such a blast prepping for this fun and special event, so we wanted to share some of our recommendations for throwing fabulous baseball themed event! Whether it’s for a team party, a birthday party, a mitzvah or something else - a baseball themed party is as traditional and All-American as they come! It’s a classic and one that will never go out of style.
So with that, here are our top 4 recommendations for throwing a fabulous baseball themed party!
Custom backdrop created by Zhuzh It Up Events
Create an incredible and unique showstopping backdrop to be the centerpiece of your baseball party
You can DIY, hire us or another fabulous event and balloon stylist to create a custom baseball inspired backdrop. We used Cricut and their line of smart removable vinyl to create the custom lettering “Batter Up, Springfield” and baseball stitches decal. If you prefer a different style of design, there are so many awesome inspiration photos on Pinterest! You can use a cutting machine like cricut or even choose to paint your own backdrop!
You definitely want to play around with balloon colors and sizes to ensure you add enough dimension and make it unique, despite the traditional nature of the theme. We chose to use a satin blue to offset the more traditional color balloons to make the backdrop really pop!
2. Go crazy with cute on-theme accent decor
Think about things like cupcake picks, plates and cups, straws, table cloths and favors! One idea is to give your guests adorable cracker jack or baseball card ornament favors! Or consider creating an adorable and unique invitation using Canva or another design software to make your own baseball inspired design! These smaller accent items are so important as they truly bring the entire theme to life.
For a first birthday, consider going one step further with a “Baby Ruth” or “Rookie of the Year” theme. Create custom signage with the baseball saying that you select!
3. Hot dogs, hamburgers and cracker jacks - Oh My!
When I think of baseball “food”, I instantly think of hot dogs and cracker jacks! I don’t often indulge in these kinds of foods, but for a baseball themed party, you gotta go for it! Consider small size bags of cracker jacks as treats at the party or as favors! Get pigs in a blanket to have smaller, bite size snacks available too! You’ll definitely want to round out the traditional baseball food with an all American BBQ picnic style spread - salads (like feta and watermelon), potato salad, corn on the cob and hamburgers are a few other food items we recommend for your baseball themed party!
4. Make it a costume party!
Really want the baseball theme to come alive?! Encourage all of your pals to dress up as their favorite baseball player, or have them come dressed as something funny and baseball themed, like a giant hotdog! When the guests get into the theme with fun costumes, it really brings the party to a whole new level of fun!
Whether you’re going for a more princess baseball look or traditional vibe, a baseball themed party will be a grand slam!
